The final day of the Irish Derby meeting at the Curragh pits two of the best Classic-generation fillies against their elders in the Sea The Stars Pretty Polly Stakes.
Pleascach represents Jim Bolger, having landed the Irish 1000 Guineas before finishing second in the Ribblesdale, while Legatissimo won the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and was only just denied in the Oaks at Epsom.
Aidan O'Brien runs Oaks fourth Diamondsandrubies, though the younger horses won't have it all their own way, particularly with Dermot Weld's unbeaten four-year-old Brooch in opposition.
Weld's Forgotten Rules lost his unbeaten record in the Gold Cup at Ascot, but the drop back to a mile and three-quarters could make him hard to beat in the At The Races Curragh Cup.
He has to give lumps of weight to a pair of O'Brien three-year-olds in Bondi Beach and Order Of St George, so it won't all be plain sailing.
O'Brien has won the opening Barronstown Stud EBF Maiden (2.15) with the likes of Gleneagles, Rip Van Winkle and Duke Of Marmalade in the past, so it may be safe to say at least one of Lieutenant General, Shogun and Zig Zag is likely to be very smart, with Ryan Moore opting to ride Shogun.
Moore gets the leg up on Air Pilot for Ralph Beckett in the Group Three Hermitage Medical Clinic International Stakes, but he faces two tough rivals in Bolger's battle-hardened Parish Hall and Ger Lyons Roheryn.
Lyons runs Miss Katie Mae in the Group Three Grangecon Stud Stakes, after she beat a subsequent winner over course and distance last time, but British raider Great Page is likely to be a very tough nut to crack following her convincing Naas Listed success.< Russian Soul Desert Law and Ostatnia are just three of many with claims in the Tote Rockingham Handicap, while the Sunday Independent Handicap could be between O'Brien's Cenotaph and Johnny Murtagh's Hunt.
