Denis Hogan initiated a double at Clonmel on Thursday evening when riding and training Ridestan to success in the St. Patrick's Well Maiden Hurdle.
The four-year-old son of Linngari left the form of his Navan hurdling debut well behind as he cruised seven and a half lengths clear of the well-fancied Reflet Ambre (15-8fav) to score at odds of 12-1.
Hogan was in the winner's enclosure again 35 minutes later as he partnered Roisin Dubh (7-2fav) to victory in the Nire Valley Mares Handicap Hurdle.
The Philip Byrne-trained eight-year-old missed out by a neck at Limerick last month but there was no tight finish this time, as she gave Jolaine a three-length beating.
Hogan was denied a hat-trick when his Emmy Lou was touched off in the dying strides by Cloudy Morning in the Powerstown Park Handicap Hurdle.
The 20-1 shot had failed to make the frame in six previous outings over timber, but got his act together on his first start since November and finished with a wet sail to prevail by three-quarters of a length.< Carrigmoorna Rock made a winning debut over obstacles in the Girls Nite Out At Clonmel Races Mares Maiden Hurdle
A Wexford bumper winner before a good second in that sphere at the Punchestown Festival, she arrived at the Tipperary venue with a decent reputation and didn't disappoint her supporters.
The 9-4 joint-favourite travelled well into the home straight and took it up two from home when a gap appeared on the inside, before stretching four and a half lengths clear of Hell Cat Maggie with ease.
An excellent front-running ride from Ruby Walsh helped Mount Gunnery get off the mark in the Clonacody (C & G) Maiden Hurdle.
Pat Fahy's gelding put the race to bed when kicking clear off the home turn and justified 6-5 favouritism by four and a half lengths from Doesday Book, who just beat Bar Stool Bob for second place.
