Barry Geraghty was powerless to respond on Eoin Griffin's struggling market leader when Eddie Power went past on his inside two out, guiding Andrew Slattery's charge home to a three-length victory.

Slattery said: "He was off the track for three years after broke down his two front legs.

"He came back with two good runs, he got taken on in front the last day and couldn't relax. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on us after that."

Doyle is expecting her first child shortly, and her partner Barry Murphy said: "He won a big handicap at Galway about four years ago. He's his own worst enemy as he was very keen but he's begun to settle.

"I walked the track earlier and we decided to go wide as the ground on the inside is very tacky. We will mix it over hurdles and fences. He's very small and he loves it around Tramore."

Noel Meade's Asigh Pearl ran out a facile winner of the McCabes Garage Drogheda Mares Maiden Hurdle.
