Zanahiyr (6/1) landed the Irish Stallion Farms (C&G) Maiden over 12f in the hands of Sean Davis.
The Nathaniel colt was never too far off the pace and led over a furlong out before accounting for Ciel D’afrique by a length and a quarter.
The 9/4 favourite Silver Fox finished fourth.
The winner, once-races at two, was having his third start since racing resumed last month and had finished runner-up in a maiden over 1m5f at Navan last time.
Winning trainer Michael Halford commented: “He’s a lovely big horse. He was very babyish and even in Navan he really only got the hang of things up the hill. I knew he’d come on from it and he was a lot more on the ball today.
“I’ll give him a bit of a chance now and we’ll take it from there.
"He’s a horse with a future — he stays well and has a great attitude. I’d say he’s going to keep on improving and he has the scope to do it.
“I’m delighted for Sean. He’s working hard and it’s his first win in those colours. He’s in with us four or five mornings a week. He came back at the start of COVID and has been with us since.”
