Ylang Ylang made it two from two when making all the running under Ryan Moore to justify her short odds in the Group 3 Jockey Club Turkey Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown.
An impressive winner on her racecourse debut at the Curragh last month, the Aidan O'Brien trained filly was sent off at the prohibitive odds of 1-4f to maintain her unbeaten record.
Sent straight to the front by Moore, the daughter of Frankel quickened early in the straight and powered clear of her rivals from over two furlongs out. She was completing a quick double for trainer and rider following the earlier win of Brilliant Vespertilio kept on strongly from out of the chasing group to finish second, with Cork maiden winner Mysteries back in third.
“We're delighted. She had a good draw so obviously Ryan used it again. The next day we'll take our time with her,” said O'Brien.
“Ryan was very happy with her, he said she ran straight through the line. He said he felt that the ground was a little bit deep for her, she's a very low mover, but he was very happy with her.
“He said she's ready to take her time and teach her now. We think if everything is well we'll go to the Debutante and take our time with her.
“The first day she ran she hit the gates and Ryan did the right thing. Today she had the draw and she did the same thing.
“Ryan said she was probably doing plenty for him in front but he was there and it was the right thing to do, he gave her a beautiful ride.
“Hopefully now it'll be the Debutante before, if she goes to, the Moyglare and we'll let her sit in and relax.
“She's very genuine, tried very hard and wears her heart on her sleeve. Natural is a good way to describe her.”
Paddy Power make Ylang Ylang 7/1f from 8/1 for the 1000 Guineas and 11/2f from 6/1f for the Oaks.
