Whippers Dream had plenty in her locker as she delivered her challenge inside the final furlong of Division One of the Tipperary Handicap and duly went on to win going away.

Declan McDonogh was on board Dew Line for Michael Mulvany and asked his mount to improve from fourth to lead over three furlongs out. The pair soon set sail for home and appeared to have the field toiling.

However, Chris Hayes produced six-year-old mare Whippers Dream with her run approaching the furlong pole and Tom Foley's charge readily overcame Dew Line with less than a furlong to travel. She stayed on stoutly to prevail by a length and three quarters at 8/1, backed down from 12s.

Dew Line was 5/1 from 7/1 but connections had to be content with a runner-up prize. Fast On at 12/1 and 50/1 outsider Can She Fly completed the places in third and fourth respectively.

Tom Foley said: ""We were praying for this (testing ground) and were delighted when there was 12mm of rain - we were hoping it would stay like that!

"She finished second at Dundalk but when we ran back she didn't run a step on the surface. Our time is limited with her due to the ground but we'd go anywhere with her as long as the ground is right."
