Whipless takes opener
The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at the Curragh saw Jim Bolger’s Whipless overturn the 11/8 favourite Tashqueel when coming home in front under Kevin Manning.
The Whipper colt showed good speed when coming up the centre of track and stayed on well to hold off the gaining Tashqeel by a short head.
Winning trainer Bolger said afterwards: “We thought he’d win today but you’d always be a little concerned of the draw and he should improve from that run.”
