Whatever Jacksays landed his fifth career victory in some style at Tipperary in the valuable Grade 3 Dolores Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle over two miles.
It was his fifth win in his last six outings and Oliver McKiernan’s in-form seven-year-old dominated from the front to come in by 20 lengths from Passage Vendome (5/1) who beat Top Madam (12/1) into third by two lengths.
There was a gamble brought up on the winner who opened at even money and was backed down to 4/7 favourite on the off. He had been 11/8 in the morning.
Robbie Colgan never had a moment’s doubt on board Whatever Jacksays as he jumped well and kept up to his work to the line.
Trainer Oliver McKiernan said: “We’ve no real plans, but we might step him up in trip. He’s going well on the soft ground so the winter shouldn’t bother him.
“There isn’t much for him between now and Christmas. He loves his racing and his heart is in the right place.”
