Weld/Smullen take opening Curragh maiden
Dermot Weld recorded his second two year old winner of the year when Moonlit Garden ran out the impressive winner of the opening Yas EBF Maiden at The Curragh today.
Ridden by Pat Smullen raced prominently throughout, improved to lead two furlongs out, before stretching clear of her rivals for a three lengths win.
Afterwards Weld reported “Moonlit Garden won very nicely and was very sharp. She had been showing plenty at home and has lots of pace. She will run next in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.”
