Rocky Wednesday gave Gigginstown House Stud a second winner in as many races at Ballinrobe when winning the Treacy's Pharmacy Rated Hurdle impressively with Paul Carberry up.
The record-breaking champion owners, half-an-hour previously on the mark with the Conor O'Dwyer-trained Uncle Tom Cobley won't have many more comprehensive victories this term than the one enjoyed by Rocky Wednesday.
Even money favourite, Byerley Babe ran her race but she couldn't match the sweet-travelling Rocky Wednesday from before the last and he careered away up the run-in to prevail by seven lengths.
Gordon Elliott trains Rocky Wednesday and he said: "That's grand – it keeps the job going. He's a bit of a monkey but he has ability and it's grand to see him winning another race.
"He has plenty of ability but he could get beat in a worse race the next day.
"He'll be left off when the ground gets faster."
Carberry's summation was: "They went off very quick early on and when we turned down the back the last time I was going easy.
"The only trouble was that Mark Walsh (on Byerley Babe) was going well too on my inside.
"Turning in though I was going better than him and it was easy after that.
"He has plenty of ability – he won there like a good horse. Hopefully that'll do his confidence good. He'd be a nice horse over fences." (TW & EM)
