Webcast lunges late in claimer
Webcast was produced with a strong run inside the final furlong to grab glory in the seven-furlong claimer at Down Royal.
Martin Harley got a good tune from his mount in the closing stages to get her head in front in the last 50 yards for a three-parts-of-a-length success. Knock Stars had hit the front inside the final furlong only to be denied in the closing stages.
There was drama after the line with Knock Stars slipping and falling on the bend, under Padraig Beggy. As a result Webcast shied away, unseating Harley. Both jockeys were unscathed.
"The horse slipped on the inside and fell and she was just looking at that," said Harley afterwards.
Ger Flynn, travelling head lad to trainer Jim Bolger, said: "She's still very green and will improve a lot from that. We'll see how the handicapper treats her." Bobskier sent off the 5/4 favourite, who was staying on in third after not enjoying the best of runs was claimed for €7,000 by Ger O'Leary.
