Lethal Weapon holds on at Roscommon

Fran Berry brought up a Roscommon double when Lethal Weapon clung on to end a long losing run in the Connolly's Red Mills Horse Care Cubes Handicap.
Berry, earlier successful on Jessica Harrington's Protestant got to the front on the Christy Roche-trained, J P McManus-owned Lethal Weapon a furlong and a half out and he held off the rallying front-runner, Captainofthefleet by a neck.
McManus' racing manager, Frank Berry said: "He's had his problems over the years. He had a great year as a juvenile hurdler but he got hurt in the Triumph Hurdle (2009).
"Then after that he got a bad fall in the Galway Hurdle (2010).
"It's great to get him back winning a race. He hasn't won one since St Stephen's Day 2008.
"He'll go for another handicap now." (TW & EM)
