Biddy The Boss (2/1 favourite) returned to a rapturous reception from her Waterford based owners, the Kilbriens Syndicate, after scoring a good victory in the M2 Construction Mares Maiden Hurdle at Wexford.
"It wasn't the plan to make all but there was no real pace, and they let me bowl away in front. In fairness to her she jumped brilliant, and travelled great. She did get tired and at the last two I was out on my feet, but the others were as well behind me," reported winning rider Ger Fox.
Gavin Cromwell 's charge ultimately accounted for Harrys Gift by two and a quarter lengths.
"She was unlucky the last day when she was mugged on the line by a good horse of Gordon's (Elliott's Present in Court)," further reflected Fox.
"She saw it out well, and will be a nice horse to go over a fence. She is rated high enough for what she is over hurdles, but we'll have a bit of fun with her now in handicaps and even going chasing."
Ms K. Ferris, rider of Derecho Storm trained by Eoin Gerard Barry, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount hit the third last with a circuit to go and as a result never travelled thereafter.
