Waitnsee claimed the formahoof.com Supporting Irish Racing Beginners Chase, racing for the first time in the colours of her new owners Mark Fleming and Jeff Bruce.
A winner over flights at Ballinrobe last August, the John Ryan trained six-year-old ran a fine race to take third on her chasing debut at Killarney earlier this month.
The market leader in early shows, the successful daughter of Arctic Cosmos eventually went off at 3/1, with Andalusa returned the 15/8 favourite.
The market principals dominated this two mile five furlong contest with both making occasional errors.
Waitnsee held a definite advantage after three out and responded well for pressure when ridden between the final two fences, going on to prevail by four and three parts of a length under Danny Mullins. Castello Sforza (50/1), who was hampered at the first, ran on well to take second under Aidan Kelly for Padraig Roche, while the aforementioned Willie Mullins trained Andalusa was a further length back in third.
Ryan said afterwards: "Mark Fleming and Jeff Bruce already had a mare with me who wasn't up to the standard of this one. I talked to them about this mare and they purchased her and are keeping her in training with me.
"They (Danny Mullins and Paul Townend) were sensible enough not to cut each other’s throats out in front.
"Her dam cost a lot of money and she is very good. It's a top class pedigree and I had a half-brother to her called Bitview Colin. He won plenty of prize money and got some black-type too.
"She go to Listowel for a novice chase. I love that place."
