Wachman dominates nursery
A twenty three runner nursery over seven furlongs was always likely to provide a tight finish and so it proved in the TRM Excellence In Equine Nutrition-sponsored event at the Curragh as Port Elizabeth under Wayne Lordan prevailed by three parts of a length from Harrison's Cave
The runner-up, like the winner, is owned by the Smith/Magnier/Tabor alliance whilst the third home, Jambalaya the favourite, is trained like Port Elizabeth by David Wachman.
Wachman wasn't on hand afterwards but Lordan did comment: "It took her a while to get it together but the blinkers have helped. She stuck it out well and won with a little bit in hand."
