Voix Des Tiep snapped a run of placed finishes when proving much too strong in the final furlong of the bumper in Thurles.
He had been a beaten favourite in his previous three racecourse appearances and again punters came for him as went off 1/2f from 4/6.
Patrick Mullins kept it simple as he had his mount always to the fore. They were briefly headed five furlongs from home but took over outside the two pole and were in complete control at the business end.
The winning margin back to Extrapolate (8/1) was three and a quarter lengths. He was 13 lengths in front of third-placed Thosedaysaregone who was a market drifter out to 4/1.
Patrick Mullins said: "There's a big difference running up the country and running down the country.
"He is a horse that works very well and hurdles might bring about more improvement. He is a big tall horse and has schooled well and it's great for him to get his head in front because he has run very well without winning.
"He could possibly go for a winners' bumper."
Voix Des Tiep gave Willie Mullins a double on the card following the earlier success of Lareena in the two mile maiden hurdle.
