Vinnie lands a touch
Vinnie Friend landed a morning price gamble and on track from 9/2 into 7/2 when she took the Wexford Racecourse Supporters Club Handicap Hurdle under a confident Shane Jackson (first ride back from injury).
Jackson was content to bide his time on the Beneficial mare and he produced her with impeccable timing. Switched to challenge on the run-in, the market-leader quickened well to lead close home and prevail by a length and a quarter over Danikhali
A delighted winning trainer, Philip Rothwell said: "She is a difficult filly to train and she did have a bit of a wind problem. In Cork she ran a bit free but I thought she ran well there. We had to teach her how to settle at home. I really like her. Thank God Shane is back. Christmas has come early.
"It has been four weeks since my last winner. There is six in this syndicate (the True Blues) and they are all from Dublin. It's there first horse in training."
