Vincita a three-year-old daughter of Lawman, popped up at odds of 40/1 on start two for the John Feane yard in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk.
Killian Hennessy was aboard the Antoinette Kavanagh-owned French-import and she held on from ‘the finisher,’ Mo Henry by a neck.
The runner-up was briefly short of room and had to be switched right a furlong out.
Jimmy Feane (trainer's father) said: "John is away on business for a few days in Singapore. This filly worked well the other morning and I'm not that surprised that she has won."
The Stewards requested a report from John James Feane, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Vincita, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Roscommon on the 4th September.
James Feane, authorised representative for John James Feane reported that the owner acquired this filly from France and she was expected to run well on her first appearance in this country but she never handled the very heavy ground conditions and disappointed.
Today she raced on a sounder surface and he believed that this was the only reason for the improved run.
Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
