Victrix Gale scraped into the Midlands National at Kilbeggan following the late withdrawal of Archie Boy in the feature event.
Tony Martin's mare was third reserve for the contest and looked set to miss out after just one came out before racing.
Campbonnais was confirmed as a non-runner earlier leaving Supreme Doc in the field. Second reserve Clarkey was not declared.
Victrix Gale was however declared and given the extra 15 minutes afforded to reserves as the runners and riders were confirmed one hour before the first.
It was only at the last minute however that Archie Boy was taken out lame allowing the mare to line up.
Ruby Walsh will take the ride on the daughter of Presenting, who has rattled off a hat-trick of successes this summer.
The injury to Paul Carberry has led to several jockey changes on the card with some riders also switching mounts.
Mick Darcy will take over from the injured Carberry on Limpopo Tom in the first while Davy Condon rides Some Fiddle in the second.
Sean Flanagan also deputises on Vickie for Tommy Treacy, who has not yet returned from his honeymoon.
Davy Condon rides Tarquinius in the fourth and switches to Mickleson in the fifth with Davy Russell now riding Pat Garrett
Danny Mullins rides the reserve Templemills there.
Davy Russell will now ride Uncle Tom Cobley in the national and Ben Dalton switches to Tackmaster
