Utmost earns Respect in Greenlands
English raider Utmost Respect stormed home up the rail to land the Group 3 Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh for Richard Fahey. Jumbajukiba made a bold bid from the front but had no answer when collared inside the final furlong by Declan McDonogh's mount, who went on to score by two-and-a-half lengths.
McDonogh was ending a long losing run of 97 rides which stretched back to April 6th.
"We always thought the horse would be better when he was older and looked after him accordingly. He seems to be better again this year," explained Fahey afterwards.
"He had a lot of weight and I was a bit concerned on the heavy ground but he did it well and has won twice in ten days now. The Jubilee Stakes at Ascot could be next."
The winner was trimmed from 14/1 to 12/1 for the Royal Ascot race by William Hill.
