The Tommy Carmody trained Ursa Major (11/4f) continues on his upward curve, adding the Derby Festival Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Handicap at The Curragh this evening to his haul and in the process rewarded any 'Exacta' followers for the fifth time in as many runs!
The son of Galileo has now won thrice and finished second twice, and today's win, in the E70,000 feature event, saw another spirited win, battling well under in-form Niall McCullagh for a length and a half success over Buy Back Bob
Afterwards former Champion Jockey Carmody, who made his return to the training ranks in recent months, stated “Ursa Major has progressed from Day One and keeps improving. He could go for a Listed race now and depending on how he gets on, maybe a Group 3 after that.”
