Willie Mullins completed a 1-2 in the www.punchestown.com Mares Hurdle at Punchestown today, winning with 5/4 favourite Upsie under Ruby Walsh.
Upsie, carrying the colours of J.P. McManus, came wide with her challenge entering the home straight and eventually saw off her stablemate Urticaire by a length and a half.
Afterwards Mullins stated “I was pleased with her (Upsie) and the drop in class probably helped her to get the trip. She jumped better today although she needed a good jump at the last and Ruby got her one!
“She'll probably stay at home and we'll look at Fairyhouse and Punchestown for her.”
Regarding runner-up Urticaire, the Champion Trainer added “it was a particularly good run from her and that now leaves her in line to go for a good novice mares' race.”
