Primo Uomo is set to try his hand in Listed company after his success in the Irish Times Handicap at the Curragh today.

Ger O'Leary 's charge came with a well timed run, under Niall McCullagh to grab the spoils in the closing stages of the five furlong contest by half a length at odds of 5/1.

The gelding, who was recording his third career victory, will step up in grade now at Dundalk in a couple of weeks.

“He's consistent and great fun,” said O'Leary.

“He's out in the paddock full-time and loves being out. He was a bit anxious in a stable and was weaving a bit and being overactive.

“He's turned a corner completely since we turned him out.

“We'll probably look at Dundalk in two weeks time at the Listed Mercury Stakes over five furlongs.”
