Up in trip Oor Jock coped with the climb in distance to follow up his Naas win from Wednesday and in the process the Shamardal gelding credited his rider Declan McDonogh with a Tipperary double.
The Ado McGuinness-trained six-year-old came wide, late and fast down the outer to lands the spoils in the Follow Us On Twitter Handicap. The win meant it was two from two at 'the junction' for McDonogh, as he'd landed the first for his boss, on Colour Rhapsody for John Oxx.
Speaking from Dundalk McGuinness said: "He's a little big roguish but I always said that if he got his head in front once he could do it three or four times."
Meanwhile McDonogh suggested that even though the extended seven furlongs here is an easy test, Oor Jock could be the type for a similar event at the Galway Festival. (TW & EM)
