Turpin lands pot in style at Fairyhouse
Dick Turpin justified his short price in style in the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Sale Stakes at Fairyhouse.
Richard Hughes exuded confidence on the 8/15 shot as he moved through to challenge inside the final furlong.
He was pushed out to record a length-and-a-half victory over In Some Respect
It was another big sales race success for trainer Richard Hannon, who has a terrific record landing these big pots down through the years.
"I think that's our six winner of this race but none were better than him - he'd be the best by a long way," said Richard Hannon junior.
"He's won a Group 2 so the next step would have to be a Group 1 whether that is this year or next.
"We'll look at the Racing Post Trophy and Dewhurst, I would personally love to see him run in the Dewhurst.
"He has a lot of scope and could be a Guineas horse next year."
The soft ground was not a concern to connections with Hannon adding: "Hughesy said he loved it and he is adaptable on all sorts of ground."
