There mightn't have been much warning in his run at Dundalk earlier in the month that Tribes And Banner had a performance in him like the one he produced in the Follow Punchestown On Facebook Handicap Chase.
However no doubt plenty will have kept the faith with the Kill Be Canty Syndicate's tremendous servant and Johnny Cullen's mount rewarded his backers at odds of 16/1.
It went so smoothly for the Charlie Swan-trained victor as he travelled and jumped with aplomb. He was looking good from some way out and he eventually kept going gamely up the run-in to defeat Far Away So Close by three lengths.
"He was always travelling well and he jumped from fence to fence.
"It was his jumping that won it for him really," explained Cullen afterwards.
Well-backed joint favourite, Absolutlyfantastic was fifth when he fell at the third last.(AM & EM)
