Tribes and Banner impresses
The Dermot Hughes Toyota Sales Novice Chase saw an easy winner in the Charlie Swan trained Tribes And Banner after he ran out a two and a half length winner. Hogan was travelling best in third entering the straight and the pair made smooth headway to take up the lead at the last and kept on strongly on run-in for a cosy win over Echo Bob Winning trainer Swan said afterwards: “Denis [Hogan] was very good on him as he’s not an easy ride, he can be very keen.” “He ran in a couple of hurdle races but they never went much of a pace and he ran too keen. He jumped very well and Denis was exceptional on him.” “It’s nice to see him get his chance as it can be hard for second jockeys to get their day.” “We have no set plans there aren’t a whole pile of winners and novice races for him." "Galway could be a possibility but the track may no suit him, I think he’s better on a flat track.”
