The Dusty Sheehy trained Trafford Lad landed the Grade 3 Novice Chase at Punchestown and in the process book his place in the Drinmore Chase in two weeks time.

'Nothing went to plan, they did not go fast enough and he ran quite freely ending up in front too early, but he won in the end,' said the winning trainer.

'He will be better in a true run race and will hopefully get that in the Drinmore Chase,' continued Sheehy.

Seigemaster started the odds-on favourite and looked certain to win when taking a few lengths out of his field on the turn for home, but he had steering problems coming down to the second last when his saddle slipped and eventually finished third.
