Toy quickened up nicely in the straight to easily land the Welcome To The Racing Home For Easter Maiden at Cork. Fast away from her wide draw, the daughter of Galileo had a prolonged battle up front with Culcor before the latter eventually gave way.
The Ballydoyle filly was winning at the third time of asking, having previously finished second on two starts at the Curragh. A half-sister to multiple blacktype winners, including Gleneagles, she holds entries in all of the upcoming fillies classics.
Available at a shade of odds against when the betting markets were initially formed, the Aidan O'Brien trained filly was eventually sent off 5/6f.
Culcor paid the price for going toe to toe with the winner, being overhaul for second place late on. The Johnny Murtagh trained Esculenta took the minor honours having made nice late progress inside the last furlong.
Chris Armstrong, representing the winning stable said "she has progressed nicely from the last run, Aidan is very happy with her and she'll go to one of the Guineas. She might go to the French one and that's why he ran her right-handed around a bend and the seven (furlongs) suited her.
"She is a lovely filly, has an unbelievable pedigree and hopefully has the ability to match it. She is progressing nicely."
