Stallion The Carbon Unit had his first two year old winner when Sarah Joyce just held the late surge of outsider Oiche Mhaith Boy in the Annual Ticket 2015 Nursery Handicap at Cork.
Her rider, Leigh Roche was complimentary to the filly for her toughness and determination though the runner-up wasn't helped by being slightly impeded by the flagging Nasution inside the final furlong.
"I fancied her a bit today. She's a tough filly and we'll consider the Listed (Eyrefield Stakes) race at Leopardstown over nine furlongs next weekend.
"It's the sire's first two-year-old winner," reported winning trainer Pat Shanahan.
S. Corby, rider of Manny Owens trained by C.W.J. Farrell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle the ground.
R.P. Whelan, rider of Intense Pride trained by T.Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle the ground.
