- Tipp Treble for Murtagh
Tipp Treble for Murtagh
Even Johnny Murtagh's greatest admirers would have had difficulty believing that a treble was on for him when Psalm found trouble in running in the straight in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fairy Bridge Stakes. However the daughter of Sadler's Wells produced a brilliant change of gear to cut down Sharleez (who had looked certain to score) by a neck.
The Co. Meath rider had taken the 5.25 on Astonish for David Wachman, the 6.55 on Divinitus for Michael Grassick and Psalm was for Ballydoyle. For those lucky enough to put the three together, the odds of reward were fifty seven and a half to one.
Psalm appreciated a drop in class to take her maiden at this track back in July. She had since contested the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran, where she finished fourth behind Sharleez's stable companion, Katiyra. (EM)
