Tiernan refuses to back down
Tiernan's Terror repelled allcomers to claim the Carey's Cottage Cup Handicap Chase at Gowran Park.
Mark Bolger sent his mount straight into the lead and he fought doggedly to maintain that position in the closing stages of the 2m4f contest. Whosaidso emerged as a big threat at the last but just couldn't find a way past Michael Cunningham's charge, who plugged on for a half-length victory.
"He's very genuine. He was taken on a bit in front and prefers to be left on his own," said Cunningham.
"Mark won on him at Down Royal and he's very good value for his 5lb claim."
