Thunder Bridge wins impressively at Sligo
The opening race this afternoon at Sligo, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden saw an impressive winner in the Dermot Weld trained Thunder Bridge after he came home in front under Pat Smullen.
Smullen raced the Bernstein colt in behind the leaders before producing him to lead from over a furlong and a half out and kept on well for an impressive thirteen length win over Dinger Belle
Winning jockey Smullen said afterwards: “He’s a very nice horse and we think a lot of him. He’s quite light still.”
“I think he’ll be a much better horse next year. He’s been doing everything right at home.”
