- Three up for Diyla at Sligo
Three up for Diyla at Sligo
Diyla has proved to be a good servant to her connections and she made it win number three at Sligo when landing the Sligo Racecourse (Q.R.) Handicap Hurdle under Tony Kelly.
The Aga Khan bred daughter of Bahhare was taken from 20/1 into 14/1 and she kicked on from before two out. That move proved decisive and she kept going well enough to hold off the staying-on Wrapitupboys (he didn't go unbacked either) by a length.
Michael Flannery, the winning trainer, said: "That's her third win here, she's won twice on the flat and I thought she'd run well. The way she won there we may have another go over hurdles. Tony gave her a great ride, he stole it really and everything fell into place." Mylerstown (14s in the morning into 4/1 favourite) was struggling when pecking two out and he eventually had to settle for fifth.
