Shamora got it right on her third racecourse start as she took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden for her trainer Andrew Oliver with Chris Hayes in the saddle.

The 3yo daughter of Oratorio made her debut at Wexford in May where she ran well to take third behind Madeira Girl and Miss Forde. Jeremy’s Girl finished sixth in that race and she has since won twice.

On her second start she was sent off the 6/4 favourite at Limerick last month but she found just one too good and went down by three and a half lengths to Battle Of Saratoga.

Her first two runs came over a mile and dropped in trip to seven furlongs this evening it clearly suited the bay filly.

Sent off the 13/8 joint favourite she soon led after breaking from the stalls and made the rest of the running. She was ridden to assert over a furlong from home and was driven out inside the final furlong to score by three parts of a length at the line.

The Jim Bolger trained newcomer Mona Brown ran well to take second at 4/1 under Kevin Manning while the other 13/8 joint favourite Starstruck could only manage sixth of the seven under Pat Smullen for Dermot Weld.

Winning rider Chris Hayes said afterwards: "She was good. She was the most experienced horse in the race. She improved from her first run to her second run. The ground wasn’t ideal for her but it’s great to get her started.

"Andrew is having a great season and it’s good to have a winner for new owners (the Three M's Syndicate) to the yard."
