Payngo got off the mark on her third start, as she took the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Mares) Flat Race.
The Mags Mullins trained bay was a good fifth on her debut at Fairyhouse in April, before finishing a disappointing sixth when favourite at Wexford last month.
Sent off a 4/1 chance (from 5s) this evening she was settled in second by Katie Walsh.
She was pushed along to lead from two furlongs out and was soon ridden a few lengths clear. The daughter of Mahler was kept up to her work inside the final furlong, and ran on well to prevail by a length.
Newcomer Osco Mosco (14/1) stayed on well to finish second under Lisa O'Neill for Gordon Elliott, while Alive Inside (11/2 from 8s) was a short head back in third with Steven Clements in the saddle for Roger Sweeney. Emmas Dilemma was sent off the 6/5 favourite and she finished fifth for Liz Doyle and Finian Maguire.
Mullins said afterwards: "She is a lovely Mahler filly and I'm delighted with her now. My neighbour Ger (Mullins) owns her and has Duninga Gallops. He gets a bonus now and all. Katie gave her a lovely ride.
"She'll probably go for a hurdle now but we'll see what comes up, she jumps really well."
STEWARDS REPORT
Mr S. Clements, rider of Alive Inside trained by Rodger Sweeney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame.
The Stewards interviewed Mr S. Clements, rider of Alive Inside, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive force and frequency and having considered his clean record, suspended him for two race days.
A.J. McNamara, trainer of Tory Hill Lady reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge made a respiratory noise in running.
