Iva Batt (drawn 22) made all up the stands' side and ran out a comfortable winner of the Thank You Mick Scott For 60 Years' Service Handicap.
Owned and bred by former trainer John Nicholson, the four-year-old won twice for Keith Watson last year and was a three and a quarter length winner on her third start for Joe Murphy. Just a short head separated Teddy Boy and Elanora who both raced on the far side, in second and third with Vivaia completing the frame.
Gary Carroll was on board the winner who was wearing cheekpieces for the first time.
Joe Murphy said: “We're only learning about her. We would have been very disappointed if she didn't run well today, she was doing what she does at home.
“An ease in the ground suits and she does her own thing. She oozes ability but she reserves a bit for herself at times.”
