The Philip Fenton trained The Tullow Tank overcame trouble in-running before accelerating well in the closing stages to win the www.naasracecourse.com Maiden Hurdle at Naas today for owner Barry Connell and retained jockey Danny Mullins.
The son of Oscar was caught for room on the inner after jumping the second last but once switched to the outer, quickened impressively on the run-in to head leader and favourite Turnandgo in the closing stages.
Afterwards Fenton stated “he's a nice horse. I thought he was in a bit of trouble at one stage but he stayed on really well. I suppose the Royal Bond Hurdle could be next; it's not set in stone but we're thinking that way and I think he'll be a little better going right-handed.”
