Tide Of Time finally delivered on the promise he’d been showing connections at home when causing a 16/1 surprise in the Meath Ladies Football Handicap at Navan.
The Choisir half-brother to Magic Bear, a three-time winner for Eddie Lynam, was out of the money on all six previous outings but put that right here in decisive fashion.
Ronan Whelan ’s mount took control a furlong out and kept on strongly up the hill to beat Face Off by a length and three quarters. Art Of Unity was a further length and a half back in third, with Noirvento completing the places in fourth.
Lynam said, “He’s a homebred and we always thought he had ability but he’s a big baby of a horse. He’s been taking his time to do it and I’m delighted for Trevor (Dalzell) who is a long-time supporter of mine.
“It was very hard to make a case for him looking at his form but on his home work it wasn’t. Finally he’s produced in the afternoon what he’s done in the morning.
“There is a race here in about ten days or he could go to Dundalk. We’ll run him somewhere as he hasn’t been busy.”
