The 2 Stevies land Novice Handicap Hurdle
Steviemac defied his outsider status as he landed the Pat Moore Builders Novice Handicap Hurdle by five lengths under Stephen Gray. Gerry Keane's handicap first-timer led three out and he was clear in the straight on the way to victory over Nans Best
Keane commented: "That was his first handicap. He won a point-to-point last year. He has a nice pedigree and chasing is his future. Hopefully he'll win more."
Steviemac won his point-to-point on a similarly testing surface at Nenagh last February. He had shown a bit of promise behind Danderry at Down Royal just over a week ago.
