Henry de Bromhead’s Tellmesomethinggirl made every yard to land the John H Kierans Memorial Mares Hurdle in Bellewstown.
An extended two miles four furlongs was the trip on offer and the five-year-old mare had her rivals in trouble as she galloped on stoutly after the second last. Bon Retour the 4/9 favourite, who had tracked her throughout soon hit the buffers and dropped away in third.
The well-backed leader (9/2 — 11/4) ploughed through the soft ground to put runner-up Two Shoe Tom (17/2) away by eight lengths.
“She did that really well. Henry has always thought a lot of her and she's going the right way now,” said Rachael Blackmore.
“Two miles is probably on the sharp side for her so that was perfect today.”
