The Paul Deegan trained Talitha Kum overcame a very slow start to win the Follow Listowel On Facebook Handicap at Listowel today, scoring gamely under Chris Hayes.
The daughter of Chineur gave her rivals a sizeable lead leaving the stalls but made up her ground before eventually moving to lead two furlongs out, and defeating Foot Print.
Deegan later stated “she walked out of the stalls but when Chris got her rolling and kicked on and kept her going. Obviously she likes it around here and she handled the ground better than I thought she would. She was in season after the Curragh the last day and you can put a line through that run.”
