Syann completes Marnane/O'Donoghue double
Bansha, Co Tipperary trainer David Marnane and jockey Colm O’Donoghue completed a double at Gowran today when newcomer Syann caused a 16/1 surprise to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
The grey daughter of Daylami, a full sister to the stable’s useful Hampstead Heath, progressed to lead a furlong out, eventually recording a two and a half lengths win over fellow newcomer Phrase
Afterwards Marnane stated “Syann did that well and will definitely get further. She is a lovely mover, likes that ground and showed a good attitude. We’ll see what handicap mark she gets now.”
