Even money favourite Swish justified her market-position to win the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Maiden at Dundalk.
The Johnny Feane-trained and Niall McCullagh-ridden grey hit the front inside the final furlong and she beat off Red Sabor and Oakledge by half a length and a neck.
Feane revealed afterwards: "I was a bit worried as it looked like she was coming in season but we let her take her chance. On handicap ratings she should have won easier than that.
"She's Listed placed and won her maiden now. We'll have a chat with the owners and work out where we go next."
John James Feane, trainer of Swish, placed first, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to be in season post race
