Odds-on favourite Shouranour was swamped from the furlong pole by Manhattan Swing in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Down Royal, the latter going on to win by two lengths.
Owned and bred by Joe Higgins, Manhattan Swing is trained by Dermot Weld and the 85-rated (third and fourth twice from his three previous runs) performer was ridden by Pat Smullen.
Smullen remarked: "They went a nice pace and he came home well. He had a few nice runs and hopefully he'll go on from this. It's nice to get a maiden with him." (MG & EM)
