Sunset Beauty takes full advantage
Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning secured a double at Leopardstown when four-year-old Sunset Beauty sprinted away from her nine rivals to comprehensively win the seven furlong ‘Republic of Loose’ race.
The contest was for three-year-olds and older who were rated 70 at the time of entry. The winner had been rated 66 then, but was subsequently raised to 80 after winning a seven furlong handicap at Gowran Park.
The 4/5 favourite made the most of being ‘well in’ by scoring by four lengths from 7/1 shot Beauthea who won the race for second place from the well-backed Kate Greenaway (11/2 to 7/2) by a neck.
Trainer Bolger said: “She’s in again at the Curragh on Saturday over seven furlongs.”
