Owned and bred by his brother Paddy, Jim Bolger's Sun On The Run was a strong favourite for the opening Follow Tipperary Races On Facebook Race and he prevailed in good style under Kevin Manning.
On an evening when the Coolcullen team is strongly represented through the seven race programme they got off to the perfect start in this extended seven furlong contest as their Whipper gelding eased to a two length success over Canary Row
Manning asked the dual Cork winner to go and win his race from over a furlong out and he could afford to take things easy on the four-year-old close home.
Manning stated: "It was a similar type of race to the last day and he's a nice type of horse.
"It's slow tacky ground out there."
J.R. Barry, trainer of Akira reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have burst a blood vessel on endoscopic examination.
