Sulwaan wins on Irish debut
Sulwaan (4/1) having his first start for Dermot Weld took the feature race on the card at Sligo this afternoon the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Hurdle, in the hands of Ruby Walsh.
The youngest horse in the field at four, the son of King’s Best was having his first start over hurdles having come from the yard of Mark Johnston in England.
Having won two on level in 2009 at Beverley and Yarmouth, he only ran once last year finishing fourth at Kempton in September.
The winner came from off the pace to score an unlikely looking victory from before the straight to beat Tavern Times who was sent off the 4/5fav back in second by half a length.
