Sales-bound Kisses Of Fire registered a timely first win today at Dundalk as she landed the View Restaurant Dundalk Apprentice Handicap for owner Diego Dias, trainer Jimmy Coogan and jockey Dean Curran.
A £90,000 breeze-up purchase last April, the well-related daughter of Mehmas finished last on two starts for previous trainer Rebecca Menzies in the UK and was bought by current connections for 1,000 guineas in August.
Today Kisses Of Fire got off the mark at the seventh attempt when beating The Pargey Bee by a length and a half.
Jockey Curran later commented “the lads just told me to try and hold on to her as long as I could and that's what I did, come with one run.
“She did it easy enough when she got out in front. It's nice to get it for the lads, she's going to the sales next week so it's nice to get one on the board for her.”
