Secretsubstitute landed a nice gamble in the colts and geldings maiden at Roscommon when scoring for Tommy Stack.

The son of High Chaparral opened up 10/1 on course but the money started to flood in and he was eventually sent off 10/3.

Wayne Lordan produced him to lead under two furlongs out and he galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-half success. Sportsmaster finished well on the outside to take second, just in front of Minsk

"He was unlucky not to get a bit closer last time at Tipperary as he got a bit hemmed in," said Fozzy Stack afterwards.

"He stays well and we could step him up in trip."
